L'architecture est un métier de plus en plus complexe qui exige une approche globale et multi-disciplinaire dont l'architecte n'a plus qu'une maîtrise partielle.

Cette réalité, le bureau l'intègre dès la phase de conception en considérant que le projet émane non seulement de celui qui le conçoit mais plus certainement des contraintes et nécessités internes du projet (contexte, technique, budget, programme, collaborations...). D'une certaine façon, le projet se dessine lui-même et l'architecte l'accompagne dans ce long processus d'élaboration, comme un sculpteur qui, tout en visant la forme idéale, se laisserait guider par le mouvement naturel de sa matière. Le résultat n'est pas une image surimposée à l'architecture qui obligerait chacun à s'y conformer mais la réalité du processus lui-même avec tout ce qu'il peut subir d'imprévus et surtout d'inattendus.

C'est pourquoi, à la perfection stérile, le défaut est préféré lorsqu'il révèle la vie des matières et des hommes ; au rigide, des formes d'indéfinition et de contradiction sont opposées permettant à chacun d'investir les interstices d'une forme ouverte, de s'approprier les potentiels spatiaux suivant sa sensibilité propre. A ce titre, le chantier est un moment unique : la collaboration avec les ouvriers est continue et une part de la finalité du projet leur est laissée, valorisant ainsi les compétences de chacun.
De la nécessité émane la vertu d'un travail constamment en transformation, de l'esquisse à la concrétisation.

Cette approche du projet est présente tant en pratique qu'au travers de publications qui obligent à l'auto-critique et donne sens au travail insatiable d'élaboration et de transformation du réel.
Architecture is an increasingly complex profession that requires a global and multi-disciplinary approach whose architect has only partial control.
This reality, the office integrates it from the design phase by considering that the project emanates not only from the one who conceives it but more certainly from the constraints and internal necessities of the project (context, technique, budget, program, collaborations ...) . In a certain way, the project draws itself and the architect accompanies it in this long process of elaboration, like a sculptor who, while aiming for the ideal form, would let himself be guided by the natural movement of his material. The result is not an image superimposed on the architecture that would compel everyone to conform to it, but the reality of the process itself with all that it can undergo unforeseen and especially unexpected.
That is why, to sterile perfection, the defect is preferred when it reveals the life of matters and men; in the rigid, forms of indefiniteness and contradiction are opposed allowing each to invest the interstices of an open form, to appropriate spatial potentials according to its own sensitivity. As such, the site is a unique moment: the collaboration with the workers is continuous and part of the purpose of the project is left to them, enhancing the skills of each. From necessity emanates the virtue of constantly changing work, from sketching to concretization.
This approach of the project is present both in practice and through publications that force self-criticism and gives meaning to the insatiable work of elaboration and transformation of reality.
